Simple Mindset Shifts to Build Confidence (3 of 5)
1. Reframe Negative Thoughts
Instead of saying, "I can't do this," try "I am learning how to do this." Shifting from a fixed to a growth mindset helps you embrace challenges as opportunities to improve. Give yourself room to grow. Don't beat yourself for the third day that you did not work out.. instead give yourself a pat on the back for the first two days you did.
Give yourself a comfy beverage of your choice for the chapters you did do thoroughly!!
2. Focus on Progress, Not Perfection
Perfectionism fuels self-doubt. Shift your focus to progress by celebrating small wins and recognizing how far you’ve come instead of fixating on what’s left to achieve. You showing up everyday is a celebration than you not hitting the "goal"
3. Speak to Yourself with Kindness
Your inner dialogue matters. Replace self-criticism with words of encouragement. Treat yourself with the same kindness you would offer a close friend. Be your own hype friend. Before anyone else is in your corner you need to be in your corner.
4. Step Outside Your Comfort Zone
Confidence grows with action. Challenge yourself to take small risks and embrace discomfort. Each step forward strengthens your belief in yourself. It is going to feel uncomfortable too when you do something that you are not used to, but that is just your body adjusting to the expanding horizon.
5. Surround Yourself with Positivity
Your environment influences your mindset. Engage with people who uplift and support you, and limit exposure to negativity that drains your confidence.
By implementing these mindset shifts, you can train your mind to be your biggest supporter instead of your worst critic.
